Using 3 kg of clay placed on an electric potter’s wheel, you can create your pieces for half an hour and then choose one item that you want to keep.
The small number of participants means more individual time with the instructor.
Sessions will take place even with just one participant.
* Your item will be delivered to you approximately one month after the course.
Using your thumb, make a hole in the center of the clay on the potter’s wheel.
Move your thumb slowly towards the outside to enlarge the well.
Hold the clay between your fingers and stretch it from the bottom towards the top. Repeat this motion a few times to achieve the shape you want.
Try to keep your hands steady.
Trim the edges and surfaces of your piece using your finger and a trowel, etc.
Smooth the rim using tanned leather.
Remove the piece from the potter’s wheel using a cut-off wire after making a groove under the object with your finger, and place it on a board.
Select two of the items you have made and decide which glaze you want to use on them. We will complete the rest of the process – finishing, drying, bisque (first) firing, glazing and second firing – and then send the completed item to you in about 3–4 weeks.
* There is also the Slow and Steady Electric Potter’s Wheel Course. This course lasts for 60 minutes and you can choose two items.
